Synder alternative for small businesses
When a CSV journal per Stripe payout is enough, and when a connected sync such as Synder or Acodei is the better fit.
Synder and Acodei connect to a Stripe account and post activity into an accounting ledger on a schedule. That is the right shape if you want invoices, products, tax, and historical backfill kept in sync without exporting files.
PayoutPair is a narrower tool. You export a payout CSV from Stripe yourself, and it writes one journal per bank deposit for QuickBooks Online or Xero. There is no Stripe login inside PayoutPair, and nothing is posted to the ledger until you import the file.
Where the approaches differ
A connected sync sees every charge as Stripe sees it, including updates after you connected. A CSV workflow sees only the file you downloaded. If the date range was short, the journal will not know about the missing rows. PayoutPair flags a mismatch when a payout total row does not match its transactions, or when a row's gross, fee, and net disagree. It cannot invent rows that were not in the file.
Synder's public pricing starts on a Basic plan and includes QuickBooks Online, Xero, and other ledgers, with a transaction cap on that entry plan. Acodei's public pricing starts lower and is aimed at QuickBooks Online, with a transaction cap on each tier and a separate subscription per QuickBooks company. The figures PayoutPair shows beside those products live in one config file, src/config/site.ts, with the date they were checked. Those vendors can change prices without notice.
PayoutPair's paid plans are priced per business, not per charge. Solo is one business. The bookkeeper plans cover 10 or 40 businesses. The free plan is five payouts a month.
When the CSV is enough
Choose the CSV journal if all you need is a deposit that matches the bank, with sales, fees, refunds, disputes, and other adjustments broken out, and you are willing to export the report yourself. That is common for a small business or a bookkeeper who already downloads Stripe reports and does not want another app holding Stripe access.
Choose a connected sync if you need each payment as its own accounting document, tax handling, or several sales channels in one product. PayoutPair will not replace that. Using both would double-count the same payout, so pick one method for a given business.
What you still check
Whichever tool you use, the bank statement is the source for the deposit amount. Open the journal, confirm the bank line equals the deposit, and confirm a mismatch was not plugged into adjustments without you noticing. Account names in QuickBooks and account codes in Xero have to exist before the import will succeed.
